Best Pizza in Cabo
Food, Things to Do, Travel Tips, What's New — By Chris Sands on July 17, 2011 at 8:54 pmFor a Mexican resort area, Cabo San Lucas has a wealth of great pizza options. Locals insist that the best of the batch is Vero’s Pizza Cafe, which makes New York-style pies and calzones. Located in the middle of the nightlife district, Vero’s is a great late-night stop after a cocktails at Baja Junkie or El Squid Roe. Specialties include the four cheese with ricotta, mozzarella, gorgonzola, and parmesano, and the works with sausage, pepperoni, and mushrooms. There are also vegetarian options, as well as appetizers, salads, and excellent calzones.
Other great pizza purveyors include the Italian restaurant Romeo y Julieta at the foot of Pedregal, which boasts an on-site mesquite wood oven, and a loaded house pizza with ham, mushroom, salami, green pepper, and onion. Captain Tony’s on the marina is also popular, with the bacon and shrimp pie meriting special notice. Sunset da Mona Lisa combines the best Land’s End views in Los Cabos with a very high-end wine and pizza lounge, and La Dolce Restaurant and Pizzeria is also highly regarded among pizza aficionados.
For those who like to get off the beaten track, Jerry’s Pizza is a great place to visit. Jerry makes pizzas for local school children during the day, and folks in the neighborhood by night. The hours tend to vary, so call first. Jerry will generally offer you a drink on the house while you wait.
