Friday Photo: Cairo Kids Doing What They Do Best

Which means, being… naughty? Too strong. Boisterous? Yup, that about covers it. The kids here crack me up. They are a complete handful, and can act somewhat spoiled, but they are so full of energy it’s hard not to warm to them.

This group are on their school minibus, which – luckily – wasn’t moving. You can see there’s not any room inside, so they had no choice but to ride up top. I watched them for about 10 minutes, as they clambered up and down onto the roof, threw their bags around, and bundled each other.

People in Cairo, and especially kids, are usually super-sensitive to cameras, and can spot them a mile off. But these guys were so engrossed in their game they didn’t notice me, just over the road on the 3rd floor, leaning out my window and snapping away. Good people watching!
