Everything is coming up rainbows in Chicago’s Boystown neighborhood this week! In honor of Pride Month, businesses across the neighborhood are adorning their windows with rainbows, and GLBT supporters are gearing up for one of Chicago’s biggest celebrations. The festivities kick-off with Chicago Pride Fest this Friday and Saturday, featuring an eclectic line-up of entertainment, food vendors, and arts & crafts. This year you can even enter your PRIDE supporting pet in the Pet Pride Parade.

The main highlight (and most colorful) of PRIDE is the Pride Parade on Sunday from 12pm-3pm, which draws 450,000 people from all walks of life to Halsted and Broadway, often in very little clothing (expect lots of skin, sparkles, and rainbows!). There will be 250 entries representing local businesses and organizations, including the Chicago Cubs. But, the truly revolutionary appearance will be by the Stanley Cup. It will mark the first time ever the championship trophy has been present at a gay-themed event. One point for Chicago sports!

So grab your boa and get out there to support the GLBT!
