Chicago Dances All Weekend

Events, Things to Do — By adimarcial on August 26, 2010 at 4:14 am

A highlight of the Chicago summer comes at the tail end with the Chicago Dancing Festival, which takes place on the stage at Millennium Park with plenty of grace and finesse. The Chicago Dancing Festival, in its fourth year, seeks to celebrate the large and diverse dance scene in Chicago by bringing together some of the cities best companies, as well as companies from around the world to the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, Museum of Contemporary Art Stage,  and Harris Theater for Music and Dance. Beyond the incredible performers which include, Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, Mark Morris Dance Group, The Joffrey Ballet, and The Royal Ballet to name a few, the festival is entirely free! This is impressive in today’s economic environment, where many dance companies are struggling to get by. This is your chance to get out and see dancing at its best!

The schedule is as follows:

  • Modern Masters, Thursday, August 26th at 7:30pm, Harris Theater for Music and Dance
  • The Dancing Skyline, Friday, August 27th at 6:00pm, MCA Stage
  • Celebration of Dance, Saturday August 28th at 7:30pm, Jay Pritzker Pavilion
