Chicago Holiday Train

What's New — By adimarcial on December 8, 2010 at 3:10 pm

You are standing at the corner of State and Lake in the Chicago Loop after a long afternoon of holiday shopping. Now you are trying to find your way down to the Red Line to head back to your hotel. You manage to navigate the web of trains, with its numerous colors and stops and successfully purchase the correct fare card (all of which can be quite a task), and now you are waiting for the low rumble coming down the tunnel that signals your approaching train. The rumble gets louder and you are relieved to see you have been waiting for the correct train, but as it approaches it seems to be a little brighter and colorful than the last train you rode. In fact, you have been lucky enough to catch the special CTA Holiday Train!

Every year the CTA gets into the holiday spirit with its Holiday Train adorned with thousands of lights outside and inside the train.  Red bows, garlands, and ribbon add even more to the interior and Santa hands out candy canes.

The Holiday Train runs at various times, but visit the CTA website for more details to make sure you get to ride the Holiday Train this season!
