Paris Club Chicago

Paris Club, the latest from the Lettuce Entertain You group, opened several weeks ago, and I decided it was time to see what all the buzz is about. Located in the popular nightlife neighborhood, River North, and right next to the very popular restaurant/lounge, Hub 51, French Chef Joho and RJ and Jerrod Melman have teamed up to provide “approachable French fare in a casual, urban setting that appeals to a new generation.” The food is certainly approachable, the environment is casual (though in River North you must still put in some effort), and as for the generation, it is mostly comprised of late twenties and thirties.

I am certainly somebody who loves and appreciates good food, but this particular outing was about friends, fun, and atmosphere, and I was certainly impressed. I planned to meet a group of friend here for drinks, but was afraid there would not be enough room since I heard there was only one bar area right now. Studio Paris on the second floor is coming soon. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this 5,000 square foot space is quite massive. The decor and design is not quaint, romantic French, but chic, edgy, and very open. The restaurant area is open to the bar/lounge, where you are free to order food first-come-first-serve, or snag a seat at the many tables they have to sip on drinks. The layout provides an intimate feeling with the people you are with, but you still feel you are part of a hopping atmosphere. The beats coming from the live DJ help to keep a energized vibe. This is a great destination for a group dinner, group party, a date, or as part of your night on the town. I will definitely be going back, and patiently await Studio Paris in the meantime.
