Chicago sure is making it difficult this year to transition into the warm sunny days! It’s been nothing but rain, thunderstorms, and more rain. But, April showers bring May flowers, right? Do not fret, there is still plenty to do on these rainy days…

1. Get Lost in a Museum
Check out any one of Chicago’s fantastic, thorough, and famous museums. Take a look at the inner workings of the body at the BODY WORLDS exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry or discover the link between horses and humans at The Horse exhibit at the Field Museum. The Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium are right around the corner from the Field Museum as well!

2. Grab a Cup of Coffee
Chicago certainly knows how to stay awake with a quality brew. This town doesn’t just offer the standard Starbucks, but around every corner is a local coffeehouse to enjoy a cup of coffee, read a book, and take a break from the day. Take in the presentation at Intelligentsia, get a touch of Austria at Julius Meinl, or get coffee and cereal all day at The Wormhole!

3. Catch a Show
Chicago has a venue for every kind of audience! Does a movie and a beer sound good? Try Brew & View! Laugh the rain away at SecondCity or iO. Or, catch the best theater at Steppenwolf and the Chicago Theater downtown.

4. Stay Dry with a Movie
There are plenty of theaters, big and small, to find the movie you are looking for. Go for an upscale experience at River East, complete with a bowling alley, or catch a foreign film at the Century Landmark, or an artsy film at the Music Box Theater!

5. Sip on a Beverage
There are plenty of watering holes in Chicago to keep you warm. Try a new wine at Bin 36, indulge in a Belgian beer at Hopleaf, or try a new cocktail at The Gage downtown!
