Father’s Day 2011 in Chicago

Events, Things to Do — By adimarcial on June 15, 2011 at 5:10 pm

Is Dad in town for Father’s Day? Looking for a fun activity to do together? In my experience dads seem to really like anything to do with food, beer, and sports. Here are a few suggestions to help you plan the perfect weekend with Dad.

Taste of Randolph
Take Dad to this six-block long street festival featuring the very best in Chicago street food! Featuring many award-winning West Loop restaurants, you really can’t go wrong here. Plus, explore delightful artisans, handcrafted goods, cooking demonstrations, and live music on two stages.
June 17-19th, FREE, Visit the website for more info.

Wrigley Field
The Cubs are home this Father’s Day weekend to take on the New York Yankees, and really what is better than treating Dad to one of the greatest Chicago experiences? Grab a few beers before the game in Wrigleyville, and enjoy a hot dog in historic Wrigley Field.
Check the official website for game times and tickets.

6 Corners BBQ Fest
Get ready for some good eatin’ at 6 Corners BBQ Fest on Milwaukee Avenue in Wicker Park. Take Dad to the popular watering hole, 6 Corners, to get down and dirty with some juicy ribs at the first annual BBQ festival. Also enjoy live entertainment, a beer garden, and several vendors.
June 18-19th, Visit the website for more details.

Chicago Beer Experience
I have always said Chicago is the city of eating and drinking, so show Dad all Chicago has to offer with a quality beer tour. Visit and taste beers at local favorites from downtown to Wrigleyville and learn a little history about beer in Chicago.
