Ride for 30-60 minutes and just enjoy the beautiful Chicago buildings in a relaxed way.
A Visit to the Chicago Botanic Gardens
If you and your sweetheart are looking to take a quick jaunt out of the city, make a trip to the Chicago Botanic Gardens about 30 minutes north of the city. Wander through 385 magnificent acres of gardens and natural area, with nine islands and lakes situated throughout. It is a gorgeous location for some quiet time together and a nice stroll.
A Picnic on the Lakefront
Chicago would not be the same without its’ spectacular shoreline along Lake Michigan. During the warm summer months, the lakefront is packed with runners, walkers, bikers, and sun lovers. Pack a picnic and find a grassy knoll on the lake to spend a few hours with your date. This activity is free, easy, and the beautiful setting, especially at sunset, creates quite the romantic atmosphere!
A Night of Music
Chicago knows how to do nightlife. So, if you and your date are looking for some late night fun, be sure to make a stop at the Green Mill Jazz club. This amazing establishment from the days of Al Capone, has fantastic live jazz every night of the week. Cuddle up in one of the dark booths together and enjoy the tunes, or get into the music and take a spin on the dance floor.
Dinner for Two
You really can’t talk about romance in Chicago without mentioning the plethora of amazing and romantic restaurants. Go all out and splurge at L2O, Tru, Alinea, Geja’s Cafe or Les Nomades if you can, and it is guaranteed you and your date will leave happy. Or, go simple and romantic at Tango Sur and HB, where it is BYOB. This is just a few of a long list of spectacular dining destinations.
