Whether your idea of romance involves riding along the Magnificent Mile in a horse drawn carriage or cheering on your team at their home game, Chicago is full of picture-perfect venues for popping the question.

Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park has everything you need to back you up on your proposal: the vast city at your side, the lake shining in the sun or glistening in the moonlight, and the dancing cascades of water creating the perfect moment for you and your intended. If it’s a winter day, take your special person down to Millenium Park to the ice rink. Take a few circles around the ice, and when it’s least expected, skate down to one knee. Everyone will be able to see your love reflected back in the Bean for the city to share. If you have a lady who loves a jewel, give her a special one amongst the Field Museum’s finest in their Grainger Hall of Gems. The brightest sparkle will be in her eyes. The Louis Comfort Tiffany art glass dome at the Chicago Cultural Center makes a classic and old-school glamorous setting for the special moment. If you want to feel more in touch with nature, head north to the Chicago Botanic Gardens. Take her along the old-fashioned rose walk in the lush Krasburg Rose Garden and ask her to be yours. You’ll always remember your idyllic Chicago proposal!
