Irish rugby pub

The rugby season has kicked in and is in full swing and fans are busy making plans on where to meet up, having discussions on which pub has the best screens, pints of Guinness, atmosphere etc.

The Six nations rugby tournament is a yearly high point on the Irish sporting calendar. The city comes alive and is buzzing with excitement during these matches. If you are visiting Dublin to watch the match or just soak to up the atmosphere I have compiled a list of some great pubs in Dublin to watch rugby you could even try a pub crawl ?

The Old Stand

A great spot to watch the rugby however it gets packed up for matches so get there early if you want a seat.

Sinnotts
Pub situated underneath St. Stephen’s green shopping centre with giant screens even a flat screen outside the entrance so the smokers don’t miss a minute of sport.

Kiely’s of Donnybrook
Always a firm favourite with the rugby crowd a roomy pub with lots seating, screens, great food and good atmosphere.

The Hairy Lemon
Excellent well run pub friendly unpretentious atmosphere. They also serve great pub grub.

Cassidy’s
Traditional style pub just on the outskirts of the city. Tremendous local atmosphere for matches and great pints.

Sheehans
Relaxed surroundings and good atmosphere to watch the rugby

Searsons
Is a veteran rugby pub located in the vicinity of Lansdowne Road Aviva Stadium and is home to the Dublin branch of the Munster rugby supporters club.

Peter’s Pub
Small pub with a strong rugby following it has the the spirit of a local neighbourhood lounge yet it has the advantage of a city centre location.Although, this pub dosn’t have a TV (a rarity these days) I have included it in the list as it is a super spot to catch some pre-match buzz and meeting up with friends before the game commences.
