Today is Blog Action Day – it’s an annual event that “unites the world’s bloggers in posting about the same issue on the same day with the aim of sparking a global discussion and driving collective action.” This year’s theme is water. Lucky for all of you, Edinburgh has some wet activities for everyone. Our recommendations:
Take a stroll along the Leith Docks, Edinburgh’s port. This charming industrial area boasts many seafood restaurants and lively pubs (check out the local expert guide on the best seafood restaurants in Edinburgh).
It’s also home to the Royal Yacht Britannia, now a five-start visitor attraction after 44 years of service. This ship is a fascinating walk through time where you can see where the Royal family once slept and ate when journeying on board.
Leith is also home to Easter Road, home of the Hibernian Football Club. Its maximum capacity of 17,500 makes it the seventh largest stadium of its kind in Scotland. Fans have nicknamed it “The Leith San Siro,” a reference to the San Siro stadium in Milan, one of the most famous football stadiums in the world.
