Celebrate Ceilidh Culture
Events — By Christina Maria Paschyn on March 23, 2011 at 8:15 amEvery spring Edinburgh presents Ceilidh (“Kay-lee”) Culture, a festival that celebrates Scotland’s traditional arts, from music to dance to storytelling. A Ceilidh by the way, usually refers to an evening of Scottish traditional dancing, but here it is broadened to its original Gaelic meaning which is a traditional Gaelic social gathering.
Ceilidh Culture features some of Edinburgh’s best grassroots artists in venues across the city. The festival runs March 25-April 16 and is one that the whole family can enjoy. Check out the various events here, from concerts to workshops.
