Other news, Americans, well American students for that matter, have been openly criticized again. In the Corriere Fiorentino, highlights the inappropriate behavior that these students exude when living for 3 months, 6 months or a year in Florence. Basically the debauchery of binge drinking that angers the locals in the middle of night. There are many reasons why these programs in Florence have gone down the tubes. I could write all day about what is wrong with the study abroad programs in Florence. But I refuse to talk to about it on this blog.
If you have never been to Florence, you will be surprised when you arrive when on the streets of Florence there will be English heard left and right. The article has left many students and administrators of big universities with strong reactions about why this is happening. There is an image of American students and/or foreigners that demean and make a mockery of an entire nationality. You can read a brief synopsis here.
