Rooftop Bars and Terraces of Florence

As much as there are plenty of places to eat and drink in Florence, the most common question I get is what places have the best views of this enchanting city. These rooftop bars have views that you can see all four sides of Florence.

La Rinascente department store has 5 floors and a basement with a fantastic bar on the top. They offer simple dishes and drinks but sitting there you will be charged a bit more. A place to sit and admire as you sip your cappuccino. You may visit this terrace any time of the day, you might only have to wait for a table if it is a gorgeous day out.

Hotel Continentale is a hotel that is part of the Lungarno collection of hotels. It is found in the medieval Consorti Tower where you can see the sights of the Duomo, Giotto’s bell tower and the famous Ponte Vecchio. An elegant stop to enjoy the luxuries of the Florentine elite. Every Wednesday evening one can experience an aperitivo from the Sky Bar that is connected to the Fusion bar and restaurant. You have to reserve the Sky Bar/Lounge at the Continentale. The Fusion Bar and Restaurant’s aperitivo is free but the aperitivo for the Sky Bar and Lounge is 10 euro a person. The terrace is small so there is always a competition in reserving a table. Grand Hotel Minerva is located in Piazza Santa Maria Novella. A four star hotel with a gorgeous terrace with a bar-ristorante and a pool on the rooftop. When you enter onto the 5th floor, you will see a panoramic view of alluring Florence. From the terrace you can see Santa Maria Novella Church facade, the Duomo, Giotto’s Bell Tower and Palazzo Vecchio. An addition of  an elegant pool that is at the guests’ disposal and open from May to September. The terrace has comfortable sun beds that gives you a vision of the red terracotta roofs of Florence. Terrazza Bardini shows off exhibits of local art work, holds fantastic aperitivi and DJ sets. They have a widespread of food in their aperitivo from 7:30pm to 10pm. The Restaurant Bardini serves only fish which is always fresh. The views from the restaurant is just as gorgeous as the view from the Terrazza. They serve only dinner and is open from Tuesday to Sunday. The Restaurant Bardini is open from 6pm-11pm and the Terrazza Bardini is open from 6:30pm til late. Florence contains many more rooftop terraces which entice the photography bug in many. Also the relaxation of breathing in the life and sounds Florence has to offer each visitor inside her walls.
