The premise of First Thursday is to head downtown and enjoy yourself. Local business, restaurants, and art galleries stay open later than usual, offer food and drink, and often you’ll hear live musicians performing in a dozen venues.
All the art galleries around the downtown core have a gallery stroll, a chance for the novice and experienced art connoisseurs to take in the work of area artists.
This week at First Thursday, the Darkwood Consort, a local duo consisting of a violist and a bass clarinet player (trust me, it works), will perform for free at the Boise Public Library, downtown location.
Rediscovered Books, my favorite indie bookstore in Idaho, will be featuring author Terri Farley, whose Phantom Stallion series has kept many a young girl in the horse phase for a long time.
