Chick Corea and more are in Istanbul

Chick Corea and Gary Burton gave an excellent concert on 31st of March at the magnificent concert hall of CRR (Cemal Reşit Rey). CRR is one of the major concert halls in Istanbul european side: and it is owned by the municipilaty of Istanbul. Although they are not completely counterparts of one another, on the Asian side, one can pretty much watch the same programs at CKM (Caddebostan Kültür merkezi – Caddebostan Cultural Center).

CRR owes its name to a famous Turkish composer: Cemal Reşit Rey (1904 – 1985). The Hall has a capacity of 860 people. The CRR is in general located in a very developed area. In fact the CRRNConcert Hall, Lutfi Kırdar Congress Hall and the Military Museum are located very near to each other. The Hilton Hotel and its fair center are also walking distance.

At CRR, there are  different concerts, danc performances, theaters each evening… It host local and international artist, and you have a great variety to choose from. The night of the March 31st with Chick Corea and Gary Burton was spectacular! The sound of Corea’s piano and Burton’s vibraphone was marvellous. A day after CRR hostes the Latin Jazz artist Joao Bosco.
