Almost every museum in Israel will be taking part in International Museum Day that takes place on Wednesday, May 18 this year.  That means free entrance to the latest exhibits at 76 museums all across the country, including most of Jerusalem’s prime cultural outlets.

Just call your friends and show up at that museum you’ve been waiting to get into and enjoy a free day.  How about the Agnon House, Museum of Italian Art, Wolfson Museum at the Hechal Shlomo or the Museum of Islamic Art? If you haven’t had a chance to see every part of the Israel Museum since its renewal last year, now’s your chance for that too–don’t forget this is where the Dead Sea Scrolls are on view as well as a fantastic model of Jerusalem in Second Temple times.
