Jerusalem, Israel: Outdoor Concerts for Your Calendar
Events, Nightlife, Things to Do, What's New — By Judy Lash Balint on May 27, 2011 at 5:54 pmJerusalem night life is pretty lively with clubs, cafes, art cinema houses, theater and concerts. But during the summer, it’s the outdoor concerts in spectacular places that catch the attention and can cap off a visit to the holy city.
Over the next few weeks, you should still be able to snap up tickets to the Arena di Verona in Jerusalem Opera Gala–that’s on June 2, in the beautiful Sultans Pool outdoor performance space just below the walls of the Old City. You’ll hear arias and duets from:
Il trovatore, La traviata, Rigoletto, Falstaff (Verdi)
La boheme, Madama Butterfly, Tosca, Turandot (Puccini)
Il barbiere di Sivigllia (Rossini) and more!
If opera is not your thing–head over to Sacher Park (Gan Sacher) on that same night, Thursday, June 2, for a concert tribute to iconic former mayor Teddy Kollek on what would have been his 100th birthday. Featured performers are popular Israeli singers and groups--Rita, Hadag Nachash, David De’or, + the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. Open seating at this event, general admission tickets only 42NIS.
Lots more outdoor events happening in the next few weeks–including the fabulous Light Festival coming up in June…viva Jerusalem!
