2010 Spring Skiing at Tahoe is Powder-ful
What's New — By christinanellemann on April 3, 2010 at 6:00 amThis year, Lake Tahoe may have some of the best spring skiing and boarding in years thanks to the last few storms to hit the area.
Normally, spring skiing denotes corn or mushy snow, warm temps and skiing with a T-shirt on, but thanks to a few storms which have dumped another 2-3 more feet onto the Tahoe slopes the April skiing will seem more like January skiing. Skiers and boarders are thrilled.
There are several ski resorts in the Tahoe Basin that offer great spring skiing, and most of these resorts are also offering end of season ski pass deals and specials. You can do a search for ski pass deals at Liftopia. However, several of the ski resorts are scheduled to close on a specific date (snow or no snow). So get up to the mountains and take advantage of the powdery spring skiing and boarding.
Donner Ski Ranch will be open the longest this year, until May 23rd
Squaw Valley USA is scheduled to stay open until May 9th
Kirkwood and Heavenly are scheduled to close on April 25th
Northstar-at-Tahoe and Diamond Peak will close on April 11th
