The Truckee River flows out of Lake Tahoe and dumps about 500 cubic feet of water every second through Reno and Sparks before ending up at Pyramid Lake in the Nevada desert. Local and nationally recognized kayakers will be taking advantage of this wild rush of water during the Reno River Festival.

This year’s festival is taking place on May 7-9 at the Whitewater Park in downtown Reno and will feature kayak races, freestyle kayaking, whitewater clinics, games, paddle boarding, vendors, food, music and even warm up yoga in the mornings.

This year is also the third annual Run Amuck Mud Run, a crazy, mucky race featuring teams in wild costumes and a heck of a lot of mud.

The River Festival is partnering this year with the Siena Hotel Spa and Casino for great room rates. The Siena is also right next to the river and a few blocks down from the river park.
