Hot August Nights in South Lake Tahoe

This year, the South Shore of Lake Tahoe will be full of engines roaring, classic tunes, poodle skirts, beehives and the bright colors of vintage automobiles. In the 24 years that Hot August Nights has been held in the Reno/Sparks area, this will be first time that a portion of the famous 50′s themed event will be held in South Lake Tahoe. The event will be held July 30, 31, and August 1, 2010.

The Reno-based Hot August Nights classic car event attracts more than 800,000 people annually and the South Lake Tahoe portion will complement virtually everything Hot August Nights has to offer including daily Show-n-Shines with cash and trophy awards, Poker Walks with cash awards to the winners, a Cool Car Showroom, a Classic Car Auction, automotive exhibits, special night time cruising at South Lake Tahoe, vendors, an automotive Swap Meet, a Sock Hop/Prom and great free fifties and sixties style live entertainment daily on all of the outdoor stages.

Several hotels in the South Lake Tahoe area will be participating including the MontBleu Resort Casino Spa,  Harvey’s Resort & Casino, Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, Lakeside Inn and Casino, Embassy Suites Lake Tahoe Hotel and Ski Resort, the Horizon Casino Resort and Heavenly Mountain Resort.

Attendees are encouraged to dress up in their favorite 50′s themed clothes and come out and enjoy the classic cars. For Hot August Nights in the mountains…the night might be just a little cooler.
