Sometimes you just have to stay up all night. Whether you want to do some dancing or late-night dining, there are some places at Lake Tahoe that are open 24 hours…which is perfect for night owls. Casinos are mostly what you are going to find open into the wee hours, and that is only on the Nevada side of the lake. Several restaurants, bars and a grocery store are open closer to and within the California side of the lake.
If you are in Stateline near the South Shore you have the option for 24-hour fun at Harrah’s, Harvey’s, the Horizon and MontBleu casino resorts. All the casino areas and tables will be open all night long and if you are getting the munchies at 4 a.m. restaurants like the American River Café at Harrah’s and the Café del Soul at the Montbleu are open 24/7. For some late night partying and dancing, the HQ bar at Montbleu is open 24 hours, the Opal Ultralounge at Montbleu is open from 10 p.m. until dawn and the Vex nightclub at Harrah’s the Cliché cigar bar is open after 9 p.m. The Cabo Wabo Cantina at Harvey’s stays open until 2:30 a.m.
The local’s favorite in Crystal Bay is the Crystal Bay Club which has a casino, a sportsbook and various special music events that will keep you up late.
Also in Crystal Bay, the Biltmore casino is open all night long with special events going until 2 a.m. The Biltmore’s Café is not open all night, but does close at midnight.
This popular sports bar in Incline Village is open 24 hours a day for true sports fans. Whether you like to play sports (like foosball, pool, ping pong and other arcade games) or watch them, there’s plenty to do. More than two dozen TVs through the large space all have premium sports packages and evening entertainment includes special events like karaoke, guest DJs and dancing. Gambling is also available as well as American and pub food straight from the grill.
The Hyatt near Incline Village also has a casino and a 24-hour sportsbook, and the Cutthroat’s Saloon doesn’t open until 5 p.m., but stays open until 6:30 a.m. on Thursday-Saturday.
The Truckee Safeway is one of the rare grocery stores in the Tahoe area that stay open 24 hours. Safeway has an excellent bakery and deli a Starbucks, great prices and friendly staff. On high season weekends it can get crowded.
