Lake Tahoe ski resorts are reporting some of the biggest snowfall totals in the last quarter century, and 2011 might just be one of the best spring skiing years that the lake has seen. Most ski resorts are still sporting over 10 feet of snow and the nights have been cold, making for some powdery goodness.
During March, April and even into May, many Lake Tahoe ski resorts are offering spring skiing specials. These include vacation packages, ski packages, fly and ski packages and specials on rentals and food.
Starting April 3, Northstar will be offering Stay and Ski Free packages for just $115 a person and college students can get discounted tickets during College Week which is March 21-25.
The Sierra-at-Tahoe resort has partnered up with the Montbleu Resort Casino to offer the Spring Fiesta Package starting as low as $156 for deluxe lodging, lift ticket, lunch voucher and free admission to either Blu or Opal, Montbleu’s cutting edge nightclubs.
The local’s favorite resort, Mount Rose is offering their Unlimited Spring Pass which lets skiers and boarders to ski all this spring and all of next season as well. The adult pass is $431, the senior pass is $299 and the U22 pass (for ages 13-22) is $149. Mount Rose is also offering a Beginner Spring Pass which includes a beginner pass, lift access, free group lessons and free rental equipment for $199. This pass is valid from March 1 to the end of the season. An extra $99 added onto this pass will upgrade you to a 2011/2012 pass.
Kirkwood is currently boasting 600 inches of snow and some killer deals. If you book a hotel reservation at the resort for a Friday and Saturday night, your 3rd night is free. This deal is available from March 18-April 15. The resort is also offering a Stay & Play package that includes accommodation and lift tickets from $79 during the week and $119 on the weekends. The prices are per person, per night. There is a 2 night minimum. For those planning on doing a lot of spring skiing, Kirkwood is also offering a “rest of the season” pass for $199.

Heavenly’s Spring Loaded spring skiing event is scheduled this year fro April 8-24 and features several weeks of parties, pond skimming, concerts and other spring fun. Heavenly guests staying at Harrah’s or Harvey’s can Ski, Stay & Eat Free throughout the rest of the season on stays of more than three nights.
When they register and download an online coupon, college students can enjoy the slopes at Squaw for only $49.
