SkyJump Ups the Ante in Thrills

Attention thrill-seekers and adrenaline junkies: if you’ve always wanted to free fall for 855 feet, the Stratosphere in Las Vegas has the ride for you. On April 20, the Stratosphere opened SkyJump, the highest controlled free fall in the world (certified by Guinness World Records). Riders get a suit and safety lesson before they go to the top of the Stratosphere–the tallest observation tower in the United States–where they’re attached to a “descender” so they can step into thin air and safely plunge over 100 stories.
The Stratosphere already has a collection of rides suitable only for the fearless. Insanity spins people over 900 feet of nothing; X-Scream is a giant, sky-high teeter-totter; and the Big Shot shoots you 160 feet in the air so you can see the view from 1,081 feet. Obviously, SkyJump is a perfect fit for this assortment of scream-makers.
