Photo Friday in Las Vegas: The Palazzo

Something about The Palazzo and The Venetian brings out the shutter bug in most people. Maybe it’s all those water features. Or maybe it’s the fanciful, dramatic décor, which is on full display in the shopping areas of both hotel casinos. The Grand Canal Shoppes are all about the Old World, but The Shoppes at The Palazzo are sleek and modern. The transition between these two luxurious malls is marked with a waterfall and a cascade of umbrellas. Far overhead, a glass dome lets in the sunlight, or glimmers of neon, depending on the time of day. Stop here and you’re sure to see plenty of people snapping photographs. Today’s Photo Friday picture is a wonderful shot of those photogenic umbrellas, looking like they’re about to simply float away.
