Planning to spend some time in a Las Vegas nightclub? XS may be the most well-known club in town and Chateau is one of the newest–but Vegas nightclubs are plentiful enough to keep the most dedicated club-hopper busy. If you’re hoping to dance and drink all night, here are a few things you can expect at a Vegas club:

Lines and crowds. The more popular the club, the longer the lines and the bigger the crowds. Getting on the guest may reduce your time in line—call or check online at the club’s site for information about reservations.

A dress code. “Upscale nightlife attire” is a term you’ll see frequently. That means nothing baggy and no athletic gear or sneakers. Hats may or may not be allowed.

A cover charge. Cover is less for women than for men and generally ranges from $10 – $50, depending on the club and on the day of the week. Cover is just what gets you in the door. Tipping is what helps your service beyond that.

Expensive drinks. How expensive? Don’t be surprised at a $9 beer or a $12 well drink. That’s why some people say that bottle service is actually a better way to go, since the club may waive your cover if you get bottle service.

Celebrities. Las Vegas nightclubs attracts all kinds of people, including celebrities. Vegas clubs also promote the appearances of famous Vegas regulars like Holly Madison or the Kardashians.
