Ice Skating Now Open in the Heart of Lausanne

Things to Do, What's New — By Sonja Holverson on December 22, 2010 at 3:31 am

The Flon quarter in Lausanne, Switzerland used to be a warehouse area and has been transformed over the years into a very trendy area for boutiques, restaurants, cinema, nightclubs and now every winter….open air ice skating! The rink is 30 meters in length and 15 meters in width (bigger than last year). This year we can skate until the beginning of March every day until 11:00 PM (except Christmas…sorry). No skates? No problem! They are available to rent for about $5 and the using the skating rink is free!

Embarrassed that you don’t know how to skate? Come with me, you’ll look like an Olympic champion!

How to get there? Take the M1, M2, LEB, tl buses 18, 22 to Lausanne-Flon. The rink is set up at the Esplanade du Flon.
