If you are a foodie, and if you are currently in Lima, then you need to attend “Mistura 2010” which will stay open until Sunday night (Sept. 12): “Mistura 2010: The Third International Gastronomic Fair of Lima” comprises all the flavors of Peru in a single place and has become the most important gastronomic fair in Latin America,

Pre-sale tickets for this fair are already sold out, but the organizers are putting on sale 5,000 new additional tickets per day, so you stilll have a chance to attend.

“Mistura 2010” takes place at the Parque de la Exposición, a huge Lima park currently hosting 30 restaurants, 78 food stalls, a bakery section, special coffees’ pavilion, as well as, many exhibitions, conferences, special sales, presentations, movies, concerts, markets, taste samplings, and of course, contests.
This fair aims to celebrate Peruvian food, culinary history, flavors and regional cuisines, but also to become a business opportunity not only for the gastronomy business but also for farmers and producers as well: therefore, more than 100 Andean farmers are offering more than 400 native varieties of potatoes for sale in the Grand Market fair zone.

The cuisines available here include novoandino (Andean fusion), nikkei (Peru’s Japanese fusion), chifa (Peru’s Chinese food), regional cuisines and international dishes, and many varieties of barbecues and meats on spit, accompanied by many stalls offering pisco (the national liquor) and several brands of Peruvian wines.

You still can buy tickets at any Teleticket stall (located at Wong and Metro Supermarkets) and at Mistura points of sale, one located the Avenida de la Peruanidad gate and the other one at Real Plaza Shopping Center, located at the Centro Cívico (at the cross of Garcilaso de la Vega and Bolivia Avenues).
