Lima has quite a number of very romantic places, and if you are in the mood to find a very special spot to propose, we can help with some suggestions.
Parque del Amor: this has become one of the spots most visited by couples in Lima, and you may find it a little crowded during weekends; it’s nicer on weekdays. However, on Saturday evenings and nights you are likely to find there many newlywed couples posing to have their official just-married portraits. And anytime, you will have a great view of the Costa Verde beaches and the Pacific Ocean, since this park is located at the top of Miraflores’ cliffs. With a little luck, you will enjoy also a lovely sunset. You may want to start a romantic stroll in Larcomar Shopping Center and end it here, and then close the outing with a romantic dinner at one of the many restaurants nearby.
El Olivar: Another very romantic park, in the heart of the city, in a very nice area, close to the financial district and to some very good five-star hotels and classy restaurants. This park is also much, much bigger than the Parque del Amor: actually it’s a like a small wood lost in the middle of the city, with lots of birds, including hawks and some migratory water birds. Moreover, its ancient 300-year-old olive trees are a unique, unmissable sight in this city. In fact, another great natural scenario to propose.
Puente de los Suspiros: another romantic place, this time an urban one, surrounded by many traditional houses, nightlife spots and very big trees. Located in Barranco, entirely made of wood, it was originally built during late 1800s, and whether you are in the mood of proposing or not, it is certainly a nice place.
Cala: Lima is a city located by the sea, and Cala is a restaurant that takes advantage of this fact. A warm atmosphere and décor, combined with an architecture that privileges the view of the sea, makes a romantic dinner an unforgettable experience. The bar has a wide selection of drinks to choose from, and the food is excellent, of course.
La Rosa Náutica: Ever thought of dining surrounded by the sea? No need to book a vessel –book a table here. A large dock connects this cozy restaurant (built over the sea, on piles), with the beach: actually you can see it from the Parque del Amor (take a look at this post’s photo). This place specialized in seafood, as you may have guessed, and offers many local and international dishes as well; the food is good but by far the best point of this restaurant is the amazing marine landscape. Just a tip: if you want to book a table here, call by phone, since the internet reservations do not work too well.
Now, we wish you good luck… and remember to invite us to your wedding! 🙂
