Arguably Lisbon’s finest monument, the astonishing Mosteiro dos Jerónimos is recognised by UNESCO as a World heritage Site. The stunning monastery is located in the suburb of Belém and dates from the early 16th century. It was built to celebrate Portugal’s Golden Age of Discovery.
