24 July – 22 August
This summer London’s airports, train stations, tourist spots, landmarks, parks and squares will host 100 free “stay & play” ping pong tables to promote the sport and encourage participation. In addition to the bats & balls to borrow and the free play, there will be an array of ping pong activities over four weeks in 65 locations across the city. Quizzes & contests will be held at the National History and Geffrye Museums and The British Library, tournaments & master classes at various locations and a sing/ping a-long in the Victoria Embankment Gardens along the Thames.
This month of street table tennis, the world’s 2nd most popular sport by the way (after football/soccer), has been arranged by Sing London, a participatory arts organization who brought a street piano project to London last summer. For more information visit Ping!.
