International Pillow Fight Day: Madrid Edition

Events — By Sarah E. Rogers on April 2, 2010 at 7:43 pm

In the midst of Spain’s Holy Week festivities there’s now one more thing to celebrate: your inner child with International Pillow Fight Day.

On Saturday, April 3 at 6:18 p.m. in Plaza de España between the fountain and the statue of Queen Isabella, two lines of combatants will face off in a pillow fight organized by Madrid Mobs.

Here’s how YOU can get in on the pillow-swinging action:

  • Bring a pillow (a soft one!) but disguise it under your coat, in a bag, etc.
  • At 6:15 p.m. line up in one of two opposing lines that will extend between the fountain and the statue of Queen Isabella in Plaza de España.
  • At 6:18 p.m. reveal your pillow and charge into battle!

Remember:

  • Don’t hit anyone with a pillow who doesn’t have a pillow or is holding a camera.
  • Don’t leave anything behind (including feathers).
  • Tell everyone about International Pillow Fight Day! Even if you’re not in Madrid, there’s bound to be a pillow fight event near you.
