La Casa Encendida is a whirlwind of activity and a standout on Madrid’s contemporary arts circuit. This social, cultural, and arts center is constantly putting on interesting exhibits and events, including concerts, art shows, art courses, lectures, and workshops on a surprising variety of subjects, and supports and encourages young artists. Its facilities include a multimedia studio that is free for artists to use, a library, a radio laboratory, photography labs, multiple exhibition spaces, and classrooms. The center is open every day from 10 am to 9:45 pm and is located not too far from the Prado, Thyssen, and Reina Sofía museums.
