An Explosion of Color

The flowers across the city of Madrid are in bloom. And while you may not even have to go out of your way to see them – the pink flowers adorning the lawn on Paseo de Recoletos are a picture – I  recommend exploring one of Madrid’s hidden and enchanting gardens.

Located in West Park at the base of the Teleférico, the Rosaleda Ramón Ortiz is a formal walled garden full of beautiful roses which blossom at this time of year. It features prize-winning varieties of tea roses and climbing roses from Europe and around the world.  The garden has three gurgling fountains, manicured paths and plenty of benches to sit on and simply admire the setting. The rose-filled arbor that runs around the interior perimeter of the garden is the perfect place for stealing a kiss from your partner.
