Maui Beer Brewers Festival this Saturday, May 14th
Events — By keithdevey on May 12, 2011 at 3:01 amMy last post was dedicated to the largest wine festival in the state of Hawaii (scheduled to begin March 8th), so I thought I would follow suit and talk about the upcoming Maui Brewers Festival, which will be held this Saturday at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center. Who knew Maui was so passionate about booze!
Celebrating its third annual running, the Maui Brewers Festival features local Hawaiian brewers as well as unique breweries from across the globe. Last year’s event showcased 54 different selections of beer, and this year is bound to draw a similar variety. Some of the attendees this year include:
Kona Brewing Company
Maui Brewing Company
Hawaii Nui Brewing Company
Big Island Brewhaus
Waimea Brewing Company
Rogue
Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing
Shocktop
Pyramid
Amazing beer isn’t the only thing that is served up at this festival. Sixteen of the island’s favorite restaurants will be cooking up tasty meals and live music is scheduled to keep you entertained through closing at 7pm.
General admission starts at $45, which isn’t bad at all considering the variety of beers you will have the opportunity to sample. All proceeds also go to the Maui Arts and Cultural Center to help fund various cultural projects and performances throughout the year. How ‘bout that, drink beer and feel good about doing it!
