Miami Beach’s dining scene is has become a trendy hot spot, thanks to an influx of talented chefs from the Big Apple, Europe and beyond. And last month, South Beach added another feather to its culinary cap with the opening of Fiamma Gastronomia Italiana in January. At first glance, Fiamma, with its sleek modern interior of white tables and chairs, isn’t what you’d expect of an Italian café, but this is South Florida. Co-owned by Caludio Console, a interior designer from Bari, Italy, this casual (and affordable) 10-table beachside trattoria serves up a full menu of authentic Italian dishes from breakfast until midnight. Patrons can take home a bottle of fine imported olive oil. And if you prefer to indulge their chicken milanese, pasta and meat sauce or calamari in your hotel room, they deliver. Fiamma is destined to be a longtime hit with locals and tourists. 224 Espanola Way, Miami Beach; 305-397-8152.
