A Nightclub for Dogs?

Judging by the prevalence of designer doggie sweaters that come out in the colder months, it’s clear that New Yorkers are crazy about their pooches. But how much is too much?

As reported in the New York Post last weekend, next month will see the opening of the Fetch Club, a 3,000-foot indoor dog park/canine club located in downtown Manhattan, in the Financial District. In addition to exercise and playtime with other dogs, lucky canine patrons of Fetch will eat homemade meals and take advantage of an array of activities including movie hour (the Post mentions “101 Dalmatians” and “Lassie” as certain favorites) and spa treatments such as mud masks and manicures—they can even run on a treadmill outfitted with a TV.

Perhaps the biggest draw? A doggie disco, perfect for the dog owner who needs a place to drop his precious pooch while he goes out to party at (human) hot spots like Cielo or Pacha.

Only in New York.
