Lobster Roll Roundup
Food, What's New — By sarahpruitt on June 17, 2010 at 1:32 pmFor the perfect summer lunch, you can’t beat a lobster roll. New York City may not exactly be New England, but it’s got its fair share of places where you can enjoy delectable lobster rolls, each with their own spin on the classic formula (soft buttery bread, mayo and melt-in-your-mouth chunks of lobster). Everyone’s got their favorite, and I’ve known people to make a summer sport of rating the contenders.
Here’s a roundup of some of the city’s best spots to snag a lobster roll during your summer visit to New York.
Ed’s Lobster Bar
To satisfy your lobster roll fix with a view of the Statue of Liberty, try Ed’s new cart, located outside the World Financial Center.
Red Hook Lobster Pound
Foodies flock to this Brooklyn storefront for their lobster rolls, but they’re also sold at locations around NYC, including the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, the Brooklyn Flea (a great outdoor market held on the weekends in Fort Greene) and the Central Park Summerstage outdoor concert series.
