Orlando’s Best Burgers
Food — By Kristen Manieri on August 20, 2010 at 9:09 amRegardless of what they do to our waistlines and our arteries, we love burgers. Fresh off the grill and slathered in cheese, ketchup and mustard (with a side of fries and a pickle, thank you very much) these beefy sandwiches are a must on any worthwhile lunch menu.
While you’re visiting Orlando, resist the urge to make a McVisit and instead wander into a few of Orlando’s burger hidden gems.
Best burger with the best view
Situated on the shores of picturesque Lake Killarney, Houston’s of Winter Park serves up a smokey burger that’s so big I like to order it bun-less to avoid the messy arm drip. Snag an Adirondack chair by the lake to sit and sip a cold beer before your meal.
Best downtown burger
Hamburger Mary’s, perfectly perched in the heart of Church Street’s dining and nightlife district, offers not one, not two, but eleven original burgers. My favorite is the the Queen Mary smothered with cheese, grilled onions, and bacon… best enjoyed on Tuesday nights during a rousing game of HAM-BINGO.
Best high-end burger
Wrapped in a toasted onion roll and dressed in bacon and Havarti cheese, the Grille’s Signature Cheeseburger at The Capital Grille at Pointe Orlando is a five-star affair. Wander into B.B. King’s Blues Club (next door) afterward for entrainment that’s just as classy.
Best veggie burger
Not only is the Veggie Burger at Hard Rock Cafe (located inside CityWalk) absolutely delicious (hello grilled fresh zucchini, yellow squash and Hard Rock Grilled Salsa) but the venue is a must see during your Orlando vacation. I could spend hours gazing at all the righteous rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia that adorns every spare space.
Memorable mentions…
