Orlando’s Magical Dining Month

Events, Food — By Kristen Manieri on August 28, 2010 at 9:13 pm

One of the very best things about visiting a new place is checking out the area’s best eateries. Orlando has a huge variety of great restaurants spanning from Disney and the theme park district all the way to the northern end of the greater Orlando area. Each September, the Orlando CVB presents Magical Dining Month… thirty straight days of affordable eats at our favorite places. This initiative invites visitors and locals to Save and Savor by partaking in $30 three-course, prix fixe dining experiences at more than 60 restaurants.

As a local, what I love about Magical Dining Month is that it gives diners the chance to try out some high-end places at a fraction of the regular cost… which means I get to affordably sample a new place to decide whether I’ll want to come back later in the year to pay full price. I’ve yet to be disappointed.

This year, MDM welcomes a fabulous group of new restaurant participants including Hue in Thornton Park, Disney’s Il Mulino New York Trattoria and Todd English’s Bluezoo. They’ve also added Park Avenue’s Circa Restaurant, Crave near the Mall at Millenia, and Primo By Melissa Kelly inside the JW Marriott.  I definitely recommend that you not miss the The Ravenous Pig… Orlando’s hottest newcomer is now participating as well.

To plan your very own Magical Dining Month experience, the  MDM Web site provides you with a list of all the participating restaurants as well as the prix fixe menu each restaurant has designed to best showcase their fare. www.orlandoinfo.com/magicaldining

P.S. This is a feel-good feast… $1 of every Magical Dining Month dinner served will benefit the Arts & Cultural Alliance of Central Florida.
