Events, free, What's New — By Anne-Sophie Redisch on September 1, 2010 at 12:00 pm

If you’re in Oslo and enjoy opera (or would like to learn to enjoy it), Oslo Opera Festival takes place 3 – 19 September 2010 at all sorts of unusual venues all over Oslo.

The festival’s motto is “Opera to the People”; the aim is to make opera accessible to everyone, so many concerts are free (and child-friendly), including:

Friday 3 September – Opening Ceremony at Eidsvolds plass (right behind Parliament)
Saturday 4 September – Opera Tram and in Kristiania Bar & Cafe at the Central Railway Station (Oslo S)
Sunday 5 September – Bærum City Hall
Thursday 9 September – Norwegian Academy of Music
Saturday 11 September – Opera Tram and in Kristiania Bar & Cafe at the Central Railway Station (Oslo S)
Monday 13 September – The National Library
Saturday 18 September – Opera Tram
Sunday 19 September – Teaterkjeller’n

See the Oslo opera festival website for more information and a complete programme.
