It’s almost time for SuperEx
Events, What's New — By lpaquet on August 17, 2010 at 12:00 pmLove it or hate it (and if you live in the Glebe and fear the annual onslaught of fair-related traffic, you probably hate it), the Central Canada Exhibition is almost here. The annual fair, which the locals call “SuperEx” or simply “the Ex,” will take over Lansdowne Park in the Glebe from August 19 to August 29, 2010.
Families often make a beeline for the midway, and well they should, but there are lots of other things to see and do at the Central Canada Exhibition. Highlights this year include a pioneer “village” with re-enactors who bring 19th-century traditions to life; an FMX/BMX stunt bike show; and a demolition derby on August 29 (the $50 derby entry fee includes SuperEx admission). The outdoor concert lineup is heavy on acts from the ’70s and ’80s, including the Five Man Electrical Band, Helix and Honeymoon Suite, but you can also catch the Irish Descendants, Classified and other current names; all concerts are free with SuperEx admission.

sounds like some great concerts! And I’d love to see the pioneer village…oh well
This is the last year for the Lansdowne location, apparently. (Although they’ve been saying that for YEARS!) You’ll have to come check out the new location!
