Where to Find Fun after Nightfall in Paris
Nightlife — By Jenny on August 9, 2010 at 9:37 pmBest place to get out and dance? You’d be well-advised to head into the Latin Quarter, where people get out on the dance floor and show their skills – or how many drinks they’ve had, as the case may be! Le Caveau de la Huchette is one of the most fun places to dance and watch the dancing. As you may guess by the name, the club feels like you’re in a labyrinth of caverns, and the great live jazz bands’ music echoes throughout. Whether you’re experienced or just feel like going for it anyway, everyone here always seems to be having a great time.
If you’re just looking to grab a couple of drinks, one of the most famous and historic bars in the city is the Hemingway bar, located at the back of the Ritz hotel just blocks north of the Jardin des Tuileries. It got its name from being Ernest Hemingway’s favorite place to grab a stiff one, including during World War II and the liberation of Paris. Today, it’s been lovingly restored to its earlier, classic appearance. This is a bar that pays homage to bars everywhere, and it’s a casual yet grand place to get a drink. They certainly aren’t cheap, but being served one of the signature cocktails poured by the award-winning bartender is quite the unique Paris experience.
Another experience you should also consider is a trip to the cabaret. Most famous, of course, is the Moulin Rouge in Montmartre. Although it does somewhat stay true to the French cabaret format, you’ll pay a heck of a lot of money to see it. Less expensive and touristy (although still somewhat expensive and touristy!) are places like the Le Paradis Latin. Shows like this are a must-see while you’re in town, and are a fabulous mix of juggling, acrobatics, dancing, singing, and of course just the hint of a strip-tease. Most are dinner-and-a-show kind of places, but eat elsewhere and just opt for the show if you want to save a few bucks.
For a more laidback regular bar experience and for music that goes late, the Lizard Lounge, a few blocks north of the Ile de la Cite, is your best bet. Alcohol selection alone is a good reason to come, as the cocktail, wine, and beer menus are seemingly endless. Live music is frequently playing in the funky cellar, and they even have some pretty good food if you’re getting the late-night munchies.

The next time I read a article, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought youd have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.
