White Box Restaurant on Kalim Bay is a popular hangout for foreigners. Housed in a converted two-story townhouse, White Box is a mix of ultra-modern, minimalist and chic that will please people of all ages. Once you’re done dinging on lobster ravioli or roasted seabass, head to the rooftop bar to continue your night.
White Box rooftop bar has a wide selection of cocktails and tapas especially prepared by the restaurant’s chef, Jan Van De Voorde. Depending on the day of the week you’re there, you’ll either get a chance to hear the in-house jazz band or rock at the tune of a live DJ.
The rooftop bar offers open views of the sea and is a popular spot at sunset. It’s all about the atmosphere here –As the sun starts to go down, so do the lights at the bar, so you can enjoy the sunset colors and the twinkling lights of town out in the distance.
White Box is probably one of the most expensive places in town. The Blackmore Wagyu Beef Ribeye with truffles will set you back 2,200 baht (about U$75), while their Scallops and Prawns dish is a little more accessible at 650 baht (U$22). Things are not much better at the bar. A strawberry martini is U$10 while a champagne cocktail will set you back U$19. If you’re on a budget, keep an eye on the menu prices and slowly nurse your drink as you relax in one of the comfy couches and enjoy the view.
