Yes, it’s true, Portland was voted the #1 vacation spot by Travel and Leisure Magazine!  Travel and Leisure Magazine has been a reputable vacation resource for many years, but only recently have they begun polling favorite summer spots.  This year, Portland has won the Best Summer Vacation Spot in the country!  Top vacation spots were ranking according to catagories such as best family activities, local farmers market, affordable attractions.  And one of the best parts of Portland’s summer festivities is berry season!  From raspberries to strawberries to marionberries, Portland is literally exploding during the summer months with berries.  Go berry picking yourself, or head to the Portland Farmer’s Market to buy some just-picking-this-morning fruit!It’s true, Portland has several qualities that make it an unbeatable summer vacation spot.  During the long summer months, Portland averages a warm 80 degrees, with clear sunny skies and almost no humidity.  After the summer solstice festivals have passed, Portland also averages sunlight from 4:30a.m. until 10:00p.m. at night, making outdoor activities unbeatable during the summer months.

When the sun finally does set over Mount Hood, Downtown Portland is teeming with fun summer nightlife.  From dance clubs to hopping eateries, Portland ranks number one.
