The weather has been very hit or miss this summer. But if you are in Prague and the weather is sunny, join the locals and hit a beer garden. Many people flee the city for the cool countryside on the weekends, but if they are stuck in Prague, they know how to truly relax: in the nature with a nice cold beer. Here are 3 top suggestions:

Letná Park: This hilltop park in Prague 7 has views to both Prague Castle and over the river across to Old Town. It’s fairly flat (once you get up there) so popular with inline skaters. There are a couple of playgrounds for the kids and seeing as this is the largest central park in town; gets pretty busy on the weekends. Their beer garden is a complete no frills place. Wooden picnic tables are set-up under the trees; buy your beer from the small shack (pictured). You’ll spot it by the queue in front. Ultimate Prague experience.

Riegrovy Sady: This is either the best or second best beer garden in Prague, depending on the source. Located in Prague 2, there are no panorama views from the beer area itself, although beautiful ones of Prague Castle in the park. The beer garden is huge, many more tables then in Letná, plus there’s a large screen that shows sport matches. There’s an excellent park for kids here too.

Hospoda na Hradbach: Vyšehrad should be on your to-do list anyway, so spend a sunny day exploring the castle, grounds and cemetery and then the afternoon in their sprawling beer garden. A barbecue grills up lots of sausages and veggies and the wide open space is a refreshing change from other places that pack the tables in.
