For the month of August, Klub Lávka is bringing its normally hot indoor entertainment outside to the banks of the Vltava River. The Lávka River Stage will host an eclectic line-up of performers; from opera singers to jugglers.
Organizers say they are hoping to bring something unique to Prague that is commonplace in other European cities. Outdoor entertainment along the banks of the river is a super way to enjoy the summer, culture and entertainment aspects of the city. That a club such as Lávka, which usually offers DJS and other dance music, is stretching its program offerings is great too. They hope to introduce more people to the joys of ballet, opera and modern theater, while at the same time, giving performance opportunities to young artists. Depending on the night, you might see a performance from the Bohemia Ballet, a dance troupe from the Dance Conservatory of Prague; a classical ballet performance; opera singers, hypnotic juggling; stilt-walkers; acrobats or classical music courtesy of a string trio. This focus on traditional arts is jolted into the present century with an ending performance each night: unique projections into a wall of water will happen nightly.
Klub Lávka is located in a historic building on the river so the program is an interesting mix of historic background with modern entertainment. In case of rain, the show must go on – and will, indoors. Shows happen every night but Mondays through August 31, starting at 8:30pm. Advance tickets (250 CZK) can be bought via TicketPro or email directly: firstname.lastname@example.org.
