Exploring Vinohrady

The leafy Prague 2 district of Vinohrady is a great place to stay and explore. There are excellent transportation connections, you can walk to the National Museum and Wenceslas Square in 20 minutes max; plus it’s fairly residential, so offers a “real” glimpse of the city. If you prefer to stay outside city centers, Vinohrady is one of your best bets in Prague. At any rate, an evening should be dedicated to wandering the leafy streets and taking advantage of the range of restaurants (including lots of ethnic ones) and bars. Here are our top four suggestions for spending some time in Vinohrady.
Sleep: The Anna Hotel is located on a typical Vinohrady street in a typical Vinohrady building; which means it is just perfect. All rooms are private ensuite, rather roomy and breakfast is included. Service is nice and simple which makes for an easy stay.
Eat: Some of the city’s best restaurants can be found in Vinohrady, and we are talking both variety and taste. French food lovers should head to Passepartout to recreate that French bistro experience on a cute Prague circle instead. Tables are placed outside in warm weather.
Drink: Vinohrady (which translates as the King’s vineyards) used to be
covered with royal grapevines. You can still spot one, however now there are many more wine bars instead. One of the newest and best is Wine Biss a tastefully decorated spot offering a wide range of wines from around the world.
Dance: Vinohrady isn’t bursting with clubs; however the old favorite Radost F/X is still going strong; offering dance music and theme nights in their basement nightly. On the ground floor is a still pretty decent vegetarian restaurant.
P.S. Did you see our photo from last week?
