A 430 square meter platform of grass has been created in the square between the Nová Scena Theater and the National Theater, until September 18. The plot was actually designed as part of an exhibition at Dox Contemporary Art Gallery called City Interventions. It challenged architect studios to find a particular spot in Prague which, in their opinion was architecturally challenged and could be improved with an “architectural intervention.” One of the projects designed was this picnic space. If you are interested, City Interventions runs through August 31 at Dox.
The grass is fairly soft and there’s lots of room. A sunny Saturday afternoon didn’t see many people taking advantage, but perhaps area business people pop over during their lunch hour to wriggle their toes in the grass.
The only drawback I see with this is that you can’t bring your elephant.
